BandQuartermaster Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the BandQuartermaster app and the services it connects to. BandQuartermaster is operated by Martin Bassett-Rhodes ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. What BandQuartermaster Is

BandQuartermaster is an app that helps community bands, orchestras, and wind bands manage their sheet music library, instruments, uniforms, and other assets, and the members who use them. It's used by an "organisation" (a band, orchestra, or similar group) whose administrator sets up an account and invites members to join.

2. Accounts and Organisations

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. An organisation's administrator controls who can join, what each member can see and do, and can remove members or the organisation's data at their discretion — this is a tool for the organisation's own records, and we don't arbitrate disputes over who should have access to them.

If you're joining an existing organisation (for example, using a join code or link from your band), you're doing so at that organisation's invitation, and the information you provide (name, contact details, role) is visible to that organisation as described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

BandQuartermaster is made available to organisations through an auto-renewing subscription, purchased and managed entirely through Apple's in-app purchase system. Only an organisation's administrator can start or manage a subscription.

The following applies to the auto-renewable subscription, as required by Apple:

• Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the price shown at the time of purchase or renewal.
• You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time by going to your Apple ID account settings, after purchase.
• No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period, and any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple, subject to Apple's own policies — we don't process payments or refunds directly, and can't issue them ourselves.

If an organisation's subscription lapses, its members retain read access to their own data for a reasonable period, but the organisation will need to resubscribe to continue using the app fully.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use BandQuartermaster to: upload content you don't have the right to share (e.g. copyrighted sheet music you're not licensed to store or distribute — BandQuartermaster is a catalogue and inventory tool, and doesn't grant you any rights to the music itself); harass or misuse other members' personal information; attempt to gain unauthorised access to another organisation's data; or interfere with the app's or our infrastructure's normal operation.

5. Your Content

Your organisation owns the data it enters into BandQuartermaster — your library catalogue, roster, instrument and uniform records, and any files you upload. We don't claim ownership of it. You grant us the licence needed to store, process, and display that content back to your organisation and its members as part of providing the app. You're responsible for having the right to enter and share whatever content you add.

6. Third-Party Services

BandQuartermaster relies on third-party services to operate — principally Apple (app distribution and subscription billing) and Firebase/Google Cloud Platform (hosting, database, authentication, and file storage). Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's own terms as the platform it's distributed through, including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement, to the extent we haven't provided a separate custom end user licence agreement through the App Store. 7. Disclaimer of Warranties

BandQuartermaster is provided "as is". While we do our best to keep it reliable and accurate, we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, and we're not responsible for decisions made based on records kept in the app (for example, relying on it as the sole record of instrument ownership or condition). Keep your own backups of anything irreplaceable.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including loss of data, loss of access, or costs of obtaining substitute arrangements. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't lawfully be limited (such as liability for death, personal injury, or fraud).

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the app for an account or organisation that breaches these terms, or as needed to protect the service or other users. You can delete your own account at any time from within the app (Settings > Delete Account). An organisation's administrator can close the organisation's account, which removes its data as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time as the app changes. We'll update the effective date at the top when we do. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles.
